E-DRUG: free TB drugs for NGOs and governments
-------------------------------------------------------
Dear Friends,
In the Philippines cases of PTB is still prevalent, easily acquired in the
community.
Daily we encounter poor patients coming from the poor communities, both
adult and pediatric patients having such ailment, who cannot afford to
purchase a course of TB medication. (normally 6 months).
As part of our program, we help patient with such cases, undergoing
laboratory procedure and diagnosis. Unfortunately, if found positive we do
not have the means to provide all their medication in order to be cured. In
this connection we are seeking help in order to erradicate this disease.
Anyone could recommend and help us source for medicine donation? We will be
happy to facilitate such mission.
Best Regards,

[Moderators comment:
TB medication now only costs USD 11 for a 6-month cure (see
http://www.stoptb.org/gdf/). What is the price of a TB cure in Quezon City?
Most governments have made TB treatment free as curing smear-positive PTB
cases helps to prevent the spread of TB. Is such a TB programme not
available in the Philippines?
