E-drug: generic substitution policies and cost saving

Dear Editor

1. I would like to see more information and reference on the
effectiveness of generic substitution policy and practice. What are the
major problems and counter-forces ? What are the potential and actual
cost savings?

2. The government is about to introduce insurance reform for the
government employee scheme, requiring beneficiaries to pay for drugs
outside the national essential drug list. I wonder who have experience
on how the prescriber comply to this policy. What are the reactions and
consequences by both patients, prescribers and the industries.
