E-DRUG: Good storage practice guidelines needed (5)
----------------------------------------

Dear Patricia and Philippa

I suggested Patricia to consult the PSF-CI documents on our website
http://www.psfci.org in the pool pharma/section management on "how to
manage a pharmaceutical warehouse". It is the one we use in all our
development programme. We have more usefull documents in the french
version of our website but we are already translating them and they will
be accessible soon.

We hope the documents already translated will be of some use for her.

E-DRUG: Multi Drug Resistant P falciparum malaria
--------------------------------------------------

Hi everyone
Once again, I may be wondering a little too late. There was a lot of hype in early 2000 about Malaria drug resistance in many countries and the recommendation to change to Artemesinin based combinations. It seems the momentum has waned. Are we losing hope?

Despite new treatment, malaria specific mortality and morbidity is not decreasing and in some cases, it is actually on the rise. I wonder why?

Why is it that it takes governments too long to get treatment policies changed? Are there serious road blocks/challenges?

What can be done to remedy the situation for the future?

Note: Just in case this terminology is not in use yet, I would like to suggest that MDR malaria be made a focus, just like MDR TB.

Lets not forget Malaria while we deal with HIV/AIDs
