E-drug: Helsinki declaration (cont)
---------------------------------------------
Dear readers,
I would like to bring to our discussion on a portion of the revised Helsinki
declaration as given below
The WMA also agreed to:
Issue a public statement making it clear it is improper for
pharmacists to be involved in diagnosing and treating illness
--------
Now how can a pharmacist ( and especially a clinical Pharmacist )
disassociate himself from patient care and not "involve " himself with
treating illnesses. Of course I fully agree with the diagnosis part of it.
Lakhvinder Singh Batolar.

[I was hoping some-one would comment on that paragraph. It would be
good to get a response from more e-druggers. In many developing
countries pharmacists, dispensers, and rural drug vendors have a
designated (limited) and appropriate role in the hierarchy of
responsibilities to do with prescribing drugs. BS]
