[e-drug] Improving Health Outcomes in Zambia and Tanzania through Technology Innovation (6)

E-DRUG:Improving Health Outcomes in Zambia and Tanzania through Technology Innovation (6)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear E-Druggers,

It has been very interesting to read of the developments in Zambia. I note
Bonnie's comment:
"... PtD sees the development need for global recognition that strong
supply chains are essential for positive health outcomes and require a
competent, recognized and supported supply chain workforce with significant
technical and managerial capacity". That statement we can add the need for
working tools that enable staff to do their work efficiently, with positive
impact on health service provision."

Health logistics and supply chains are complex with the need for tools (as
Bonnie suggests), but also infrastructure, systems and procedures, and
management, all in the understanding of the local context. PtD was
established to heighten the focus on HR in health supply chains but we
fully understand the need for this focus to be part of a whole of system
approach to the development of sustainable health supply chain systems.
Thanks Bonnie for reminding everyone. For those of you who are interested
in hearing more about where HR fits as part a wider approach then I invite
you to watch the webinar we conducted last year;
