E-drug: inappropriate drug donations
------------------------------------
Dear colleagues
I'm exploring the issue of inappropriate drug donations to
developing countries as part of an MSc research project. While a
fair amount seems to have been written on the subject, I can't find
much documented beyond 1995. Does anyone have any
information on recent evidence of inappropriate donations? Does your
organisation have a particular policy or follow any guidelines on
the subject?
Any information would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

[After the inter-agnecy guidelines were developed in 1996, they are
currently being evaluated. WHO/DAP is collecting data on drug donations - contact
Dr Gray at grayr@who.ch or Dr Hogerzeil at hogerzeilh@who.ch
Australia and Netherlands issued national drug donating guidelines
after quite a lot of national debate.
Contact WEMOS (wemos@wemos.nl) and HAI (hai@hai.antenna.nl) for
more info on the Netherlands situation.
Other E-druggers might give their impressions whether inappropriate
donations have become less of a problem? WB]
