A pertinent example of the problems documented is complaint
AC-1J8YT9YX/2020 - Contract Manufacturing & Packaging Services Pty Ltd, Zifampinnacle, Facia!
- submitted to the TGA on 27 January 2020, prompted by Professor Krisantha
Weerasuriya. See:
<https://www.medreach.com.au/complementary-medicines-exporting-white-australia-policy/>

Prof Weerasuriya ( University of Colombo) has complained that Australian made skin whitening products are being sold in Sri Lankan supermarkets (and presumably other Asian counties). Skin-whitening products are a multi-billion-dollar industry that push the idea that beauty equates with white skin and that lightening dark skin is achievable and preferable. This causes serious social harm and wastes consumers money.

To-date, the TGA has yet to report an outcome of this complaint.
