E-DRUG: IQ Sensato meeting on Global Strategy and Plan of Action on Public Health, Innovation and Intellectual Property Rights

IQsensato will be holding a seminar on the "Implementation of the WHO Global
Strategy on Public Health, Innovation and Intellectual Property". The
seminar will take place in Room B, at the Conference Centre Varembe (CCV),
Rue de Varembe 9-11, 1202 Geneva, Switzerland on 23 Setember 2008 from 15h00
to 18h00.

This will be the first time, since the World Health Assembly (WHA) adopted
the strategy in May 2008, that various stakeholders from governments,
intergovernmental organisations, the private sector, civil society and
academia will come together to discuss the implementation of the strategy.
Discussions will cover a wide range of issues ranging from the development
of the quick start programme through to measures being taken or needed at
the national level both in developing and developed countries.

The seminar is open to the public but Registration is required by Monday
22nd September 2008 due to limited space. Please e-mail your confirmation to

If the meeting is so important, why is there such short notice? It greatly
increases chances that independent parties who would like to contribute and
have concerns will not be able to come. A classic tactic.
