The Medicine Quality Research Group, Centre for Tropical Medicine & Global Health, Nuffield Department of Medicine, University of Oxford, UK, is looking for a Software Engineer and Data Scientist, to join the planning and execution of software development projects in an innovative Wellcome Trust funded project to improve our understanding of pharmaceutical forensics and the public health impact of substandard and falsified antimicrobials.
The Software Engineer and Data Scientist will be a key member of the Medicine Quality Research Group leading and coordinating the informatics and data science across the project themes and construct a network of secure and straightforward informatics to link them, from sample identification to data flows and visualisation and appropriate systems for use of the epidemiological data for social network analysis and modelling of impact of substandard and falsified antimicrobials on patient outcome and antimicrobial resistance.
The role will be involved in all stages of the software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis, design and implementation, through to testing and maintenance. The position would suit a Software Engineer and Data Scientist interesting in using their skills to conduct research to improve global health.
