E-drug: Ketoconazole

I need your assistance for our provincial Pharmacy and Therapeutics
committee (The KZN PTC).
Ketoconazole has been taken off WHO's list of medicines, I have been
recently informed. I probably missed the facts for this and need to be
better informed. So does our committee.
Please assist in affording our committee with the details, data and
guidance for the use of Ketoconazole. At the last meeting of our
PTC, it was discovered that Ketoconazole is amongst the top four items
used at a tertiary institution at a very high cost. Motivated requests
for its use were tabled at the meeting of the KZN PTC and need to be
considered in the light of pertinent and evident based information.
