[The Zimbabwe EDLIZ was a very important early example of an EML.
It helped many other countries developing their own EMLs. BS Moderator]

Hi Hans,
I have some information about Zimbabwe EMLs.
The first list was called PEDLIZ (Proposed Essential Drug List for Zimbabwe) published August 1981
The first list EDLIZ was published in 1985
The second version of the EDLIZ was published in 1989 and the third in 1994. The fourth list was published in 2000. Zimbabwe. The 2006 list is the 5th edition.

There was also a specialized oncology list published in 1992.

I have hard copies of all of these lists except PEDLIZ and the 2006 5th Edition.

It will be very interesting to see what information is generated with this process. It may well be worth capturing the names of the informants as they may be able to help in the future with such queries.

Thanks
Richard
