[e-drug] List of 'activist' books on Big Pharma and/or medicines 2014 (3)

E-DRUG: List of 'activist' books on Big Pharma and/or medicines 2014 (3)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello,
I just downloaded the list of books on pills, and it is indeed a fantastic resource.
However, I have few things I think should be added:

Films: They Go To Die- Story of AIDs activists fighting for access to
medicines in the US. Focuses more on the personal stories than the
regulatory/intellectual property/corporate content.

Organisations: Universities Allied for Essential Medicines (UAEM)- Student
group advocating for increased access to essential medicines via a change
to an equitable R&D and IP system. UAEM North America <http://uaem.org/>\. UAEM
Europe <http://www.uaem-europe.org/>

Books: Information Feudalism *Drahos & Braithwaite *- This book focuses
around the adoption of TRIPs but gives an extensive history of how IP law
has been used in the past, and how different industries have shaped their
approach to IP. Gives a comprehensive analysis of how and why TRIPs was
passed, relying on interviews from negotiators and company executives. A
must read for anyone wanting to get to grips with TRIPs
