E-drug: Meeting Report TA, Doha, TRIPS and Health

Today is World Intellectual Property Day, an appropriate day to
reflect on how to contribute to the full implementation of the Doha
declaration on TRIPS and Public Health.
It is my pleasure to let you know that the report of the conference
on "Implementation of the Doha Declaration on the TRIPS
agreement and Public Health" which was held on March 28 2002 at
the Centre International de Conference de Geneve (CICG), and the

In June the TRIPS Council will discuss proposals to ensure that the
WTO TRIPS will no longer form a barrier to export health care
products to countries who need access to them as instructed in
paragraph 6 of the Doha Declaration. NGOs have made proposals to
resolve this issue in a letter sent to the members of the TRIPS
