E-drug: National Medicines Symposium 2002

There will be a conference on quality use of medicines [rational
drug use] in Australia next year in March 2002. Further details
appear below.
The National Medicines Symposium "Linking people, actions and
policy for quality use of medicines"
Thursday 21 March to Friday 22 March 2002
Canberra, ACT, Australia.
The symposium is being hosted by the Pharmaceutical Health and
Rational Use of Medicines Committee (PHARM) and the National
Prescribing Service (NPS). The National Medicines Symposium 2002
provides a forum for debate and discussion of Quality Use of
Medicines issues and will draw together international and national
experts.
Keynote speakers include:
Dennis Ross-Degnan, Department of Ambulatory Care and
Prevention, Harvard Medical School and Harvard Pilgrim Health Care
Tom Walley, Professor of clinical pharmacology, Prescribing
Research Group, Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics,
University of Liverpool.
Janne Graham, Deputy Chair, Australian Pharmaceutical Advisory
Council.
There is a call for papers and posters for the conference. The
deadline for abstracts in Friday 30 November, 2001. To obtain
