E-drug: New Polio Information Materials
---------------------------------------
In support of the global campaign to eradicate polio, the United States
Pharmacopeia has developed an enhanced monograph on polio and oral polio
vaccine. The combined therapeutic and drug monograph is targeted to the
moderate to highly educated reader, e.g., health care professionals,
journalists, teachers, and is intended to address myths and superstitions
held by people in many developing countries that may be preventing them
from fully immunizing their families against polio. In addition, USP' s
Advice for the Patient on oral polio vaccine has been updated. The
monographs have been developed with the support of the United States Agency
for International Development and many of the people collaborating with the
Polio Program Coordinator's office at USAID have contributed to their
content. Both documents are available in French, Portuguese, Russian and
Arabic, in addition to the original English.
If you would like copies of either or both documents, please contact me at
(301) 816-8385 or via Email: nlb@USP.org
Please indicate which language(s) you would like to receive and how many
copies.
