E-drug: Polio vaccine causing Polio

Dear E-druggers,
One of our daily English newspaper has published a letter to the editor
with the above mentioned heading. We in Pakistan have been celebrating
National Immunization Days for eradicating Poliomyelitis and this can a
big setback for our forthcoming campaign. In the letter the writer has
alleged that his/her son from Sweden had developed polio after the
vaccines and has warned our 23 million children might be the future
victims if vaccinated.
I am in need of some immediate relevant facts and figures regarding the
vaccines, side effects and incidence, and success stories from some of the
countries where the disease has been eradicated. May be WHO could
respond?
