[e-drug] NSAIDS for dysmenorrhoea (cont'd)

E-drug: NSAIDS for dysmenorrhoea (cont'd)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

I think there is some lack of clarity in this debate over average
efficacy and efficacy for a particular patient. We should all be able to
agree that there is no evidence that, on average, one NSAID is any
more effective than the next (though safety may differ). But what is
the evidence (if any) that for any one patient a particular NSAID may
be more effective than another (or that one class of NSAIDs may be
more effective for a particular patient than another class)? At this
point, it is relatively clear that we have no a priori basis for preferring
one NSAID over another on efficacy grounds, but the question is
whether there is any evidence that justifies switching someone from
one NSAID to another after the patient decides the first one is
ineffective.

Does anyone have any data they can bring to bear on this?
