'Global Campus'

What is InWEnt?
InWEnt is a German organisation for international human resources
development, advanced training and dialogue. The Federal Government
of Germany is its main partner and the Federal Ministry for Economic
Cooperation and Development its chief commissioning authority.
The health division of InWEnt offers training programs for capacity
development, supporting individuals, institutions and governments for
improving health service delivery.

The Course
E-learning, developed by InWEnt, provides a unique opportunity where
participants who are separated by huge geographic distances and work
in different parts of the health sector can learn together as a cyber
group.
The "Management of medicines in International health' is especially
suitable for such an international and interdisciplinary learning
process. The course is accessed through the internet but does not
require continuous access because modules can be downlowded.

Course Concept and Structure

The structure consists of 3 phases with a mixture of reception and
interaction.
1. The Contact Phase is focused on the participants and their special
needs. Participants get to know each other, analyse their needs and
become familiar with the course.
2. The Online Course consists of 7 modules with one main-topic each
and tests at the end of each .
3. After a successful online course you are invited to a workshop to
reinforce what you have learnt. You develop a project proposal to
improve a specific medicine management problem in your working
environment.
Additional references, websites and case studies are provided. When
you have studied the 6 modules you are able

Module 0:
to describe how globalisation effects the management of medicines,
Module 1:
to describe the historical evolution and the current context of
medicine use in different health care systems,
Module 2:
to describe the framework and components of a medicine supply system,
Module 3:
to describe certain concepts, procedures and tools used with
essential medicines,
Module 4:
to apply the personal medicine concept,
Module 5:
to explain the concept and factors of rational medicine use,
Module 6:

training of health professionals as important determinants for the
provision of essential medicines.
