E-drug: Oxfam accuses Pfizer of 'moral bankruptcy' (cont'd)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks to Oxfam for setting an example we all should follow by
calling Pfizer's inhumane practices what they are--*immoral*. With
millions of lives at stake, we must speak this truth forcefully. Free
enterprise and intellectual property rights must be protected for the
sake of all. But blind adherence to these ideas, as if they can be
considered in a moral vacuum, is wrong. They must be balanced
against countervailing forces. And none could be greater than the
lives of millions of the world's poor hanging in that balance.
Perhaps we cannot bring commercial forces to the heel of human
need. But we can deny them the grace of morality's imprimatur.
Let's all stand up and be heard, for if we don't speak for poor, who
will?
