[e-drug] Patented drugs on WHO/EML?

E-DRUG: Patented drugs on WHO/EML?
----------------------------------

Dear Friends,

Can any one help me giving the details of drugs still under patent in the EDL(WHO)?. When the period of patent will be over?

Thanks in advance,

[Patents are national, and the WHO EML is a global advice. So the answer depends on the country where you are. Finding dates of patent expiry is also difficult. WB]

E-DRUG: Patented drugs on WHO/EML? (2)
--------------------------------------

Dear colleague,

Dates of patents and countries in which the patents were filed can be found in the Merck Index (published by Merck & Co Inc., available in bookshops, as far as I know NOT on the Internet. Most medical and pharmaceutical laboratories (and all of the larger industries) have it.

Good luck

E-DRUG: Drug information Centres in Nigeria?
--------------------------------------------

Dear e-druggers,

Please may I be advised about the various drug
information centres in Africa (especially Nigeria) or
any libraries with good resources.

Thanks,

Funmi Oduniyi (MRPharmS)

[Besides E-drug there is also INDICES, a network for Drug Information Centres. See http://www.essentialdrugs.org/indices/
INDICES is not very active, unfortunately.
Maybe all Drug Information people should look at the archives and join the list to create a network of DICs?

Below is a list of Drug Information Centres in Africa
which I compiled last year - unfortunately none in
Nigeria. If anyone else knows of any which are missing
or any information which has changed please let me
know.

FOr those with internet access, Graeme Vernon
maintains an international list of DICs on the Society
of Hospital Pharmacists of Australia website:
