Partners In Health (PIH) is an international non-governmental
organization dedicated to delivering quality health care to people and
communities devastated by the joint burdens of poverty and disease.
PIH’s work has three goals: to care for patients, to alleviate the
root causes of disease, and to share lessons learned around the world.
PIH has programs in Haiti, Peru, Guatemala, Mexico, Russia,
Kazakhstan, Rwanda, Lesotho, Malawi, the Dominican Republic and
Boston.

Title: Pharmacist
Reports to: Director of PIH-Lesotho
Location: Maseru, Lesotho
Contract: full time (long-term)

Overall Responsibilities: The Pharmacist oversees all pharmaceutical
services for all Partners In Health–Lesotho (PIHL) projects, which
includes two hospitals, seven large health centers, and a mature
MDR-TB program. He or she will be responsible for: (1) procurement and
stock management for all PIHL projects; (2) direct supervision of
members of the pharmacy team; (3) working with PIHL administrative and
clinical teams to improve pharmaceutical stock management and rational
use of drugs.

Specific Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day management of the central PIHL warehouse and dispensary.
- Oversee distribution of drugs and medical supplies to all
PIHL-supported facilities.
- Keep stock records and perform consumption forecasting of all drugs,
including second-line TB drugs.
- Conduct regular supervisory visits to all PIHL projects.
- Conduct training for all PIHL pharmaceutical staff on drug
dispensing and supply management.
- Procure drugs and medical supplies from local and regional distributors.
- Liaise with PIH-Boston office and International Partners for
procurement of drugs and supplies that cannot be procured locally,
such as second-line TB drugs.
- Participate in development of new initiatives to improve PIHL
pharmaceutical functions.
- Participate and facilitate all PIHL pharmacy research activities.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual pharmaceutical reports.

Qualifications:
- English proficiency required.
- More than two years of field experience managing pharmaceutical
operations for complex projects involving multiple health facilities
in developing countries.
- Field experience in Africa is strongly preferred.
- Proven experience in collaborating with multidisciplinary,
multicultural teams.
- Computer skills in word processing and spreadsheet programs
including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication, writing and presentation skills
- Ability to work under pressure, handle multiple assignments,
prioritize work flow, adapt to fluctuating workload, and meet
deadlines
