There is a wide spread propaganda for the popularisation of the ORS
packets in our country with the help of MNC's and International Health
Agencies.There are different formulations of ORS available in the market
as well as those supplied through the health centres. Each of these
formulations are having slight variations in their composition in terms
of the glucose content or sodium chloride content or potassium content.
There is no uniformity in their composition and no clearcut guidelines
is followed in their manufacture.
Hope your query will bring out some more pertinent explanation to this
anomaly. More over the ORS propaganda is sidelining the possibility of
using the home-made and locally available remedies which are easily
available and less costly.
