E-DRUG: Re: Essential Drug Supply in Sudan

E-drug: Re: Essential Drug Supply in Sudan
----------------------------------------------------------

For what it is worth. I heard on the Public Broadcasting Service in
Washington DC on 23 September about 9.45 an interview with Ramsey Clark, in
which he spoke in detail about the Sudan bombing. As I recall, he said
that the Administration knew there was no threat from the factory and that
the real reason was that US drug manufacturers were concerned that the
Sudanese factory was making drugs for both the Sudanese market and for
export which were much less expensive than the same drugs made US
manufacturers. He also said that Eli Lilley (I think) had refused to sell
galenicals to the Sudanese factory.
