Ladies and Gentlemen,

The idea that Dr. Robert Orina Nyarango, the Acting Chief Pharmacist of
Gertrude's Garden Children's Hospital, Nairobi, Kenya proposed about
Clinical Pharmacy in developing countries will work: "a collaborative
effort between Pharmacists in the third world and those in the developed
countries. Exchange training programs, scholarships, online
communication." It is doable; it is the way to go. Perhaps a
coordination office at FIP Headquarters may be in order.

On stock outs in public pharmacies. Even if an item were out of stock,
it is worth to ensure prescriptions that suit individuals are made so
that when relatives organize to sell their belongings for treatment, the
search to get the therapy will be worth the bother.

The reasons as to why public pharmacies usually run out of stock are
many, but the major factor following a close observation seems to be
political at facility and ministry level. Nevertheless, there is need
to train people in quality pharmacy management.
