E-drug: Re: New Alcohol Warnings for Pain/Fever Meds
----------------------------------------------------------
An interestingly vague announcement. Can anyone tell me exactly what
"advice" a pharmacist or physician should give to patients who ask about
this warning? What are the absolute risks associated with combining alcohol
with these products. What are the risks over what occurs in patients who
are not ingesting alcohol? What does "increased risk" mean absolutely
speaking? Without this information, how can one make an informed decision
or provide the patient with useful information?
