E-drug: Re: New drug info resource
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Colleagues,
Andy Gray said, "Medscape has made available really useful drug information
on the web.. .Find information on drug-drug and drug-food interactions, uses
and dosage, etc...."
This site allows one to search for either a drug or disease. While the drug
information is useful I am not so sure about the disease information. For
example, searching for the disease "tonsillitis", appears to merely produces
a list of all drugs for which streptococcal tonsillitis is an approved
indication (see a portion below). This is a very different list to that
produced by those who compile recommendations on the most cost-effective and
ecologically appropriate drugs for this condition (eg. see
http://www.tg.com.au)! Perhaps George Lundberg (Medscape Editor) might like
to comment?
Cheers,
