E-drug: Re: No Free Lunch (cont'd)
----------------------------------------------------------
Hi: I use the following quote from a job advertisement for a pharmaceutical
representative (Purdue-Frederick) to help clinicians understand some of the
issues of drug detailing. While we all know this is their role, it was
interesting to see it so clearly presented in a job description.
The job description was as follows:
"Your primary goal will be to meet sales objectives to enhance company
revenues. You will achieve this by profiling and selecting Medical Doctors
who can contribute to our business goals, motivating those Doctors to
incorporate our product lines to provide higher quality of life for
patients and managing your territory on a cost-effective basis."
When I show this ad to doctors and pharmacists they think this must be a
fake - but it isn't - it was in the Vancouver Sun on August 15 1997.
