Hi all
Even in a country where manufacturing quality is included in the
registration of a product (such as in South Africa), there is need for
ongoing vigilance. Pre-qualification would seem to be a similar
problem. In SA, all tender submissions are from local registration
holders - however, random testing of batches received by the State
and ongoing surveillance by the Medicines Regulatory Authority (in
our case the Medicines Control Council) are still necessary. To
illustrate that point, below is a snip from an article that appeared
yesterday in the Star, a Johannesburg daily (reproduced as fair
use).
