I think that Jim Russo's comment rejecting the retesting of expired drugs to
recertify them may be jumping the gun on this issue. It has been known for
many years that drugs which are well manufactured and stored correctly cam
be effective long after their expiry date. It would seem to me that if an
organization like Jim's offered to organize the testing and recertification
of new expiry dates they would be doing the world of donated drug a favor.
Testing is relatively cheap and companies can do the testing in their own
labs with FDA or other national authorities certifying the results. This
would be within the WHO Guidelines.

So I think this may be worth thinking about.
