E-drug: Re: WHO and HAI launch new pricing study (cont)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear E-druggers,

Further to my message 23 May on the WHO and HAI collaborative project to
develop a methodology for measuring medicine prices. The HAI website is now
operable, please take a look at www.haiweb.org/medicineprices. The site
features survey data from the pilot studies. Unfortunately, not all the
pilot data has been reviewed - some of the price component information and
public sector prices will not be available until the end of the month.

To obtain a copy of the manual email the WHO EDM documentation centre
(edmdoccentre@who.int).

The next phase of the project will start now. There will be regional
workshops to assist those undertaking surveys using the manual. We will
follow closely future surveys looking at what is problematic in the manual
in order to improve any weak points in the planned revision. There will also
be several in-depth studies undertaken to assess causes of price variation
and case studies to see impact of policy options.

On behalf of both co-ordinators (Margaret Ewen and Andrew Creese), all
consultants and research persons involved.
