[e-drug] Relaunch of Essential Medicines Monitor

E-DRUG: Relaunch of Essential Medicines Monitor
----------------------------------------
[Welcome back! - Moderator]

Dear E-Druggers,
We are very pleased to announce the relaunch of the Essential Medicines
Monitor. You may recall the Essential Drugs Monitor, a 36 page A3
publication with a green border on the pages. This was published for
more that 25 years and served as a very important guide to issues
concerning essential drugs.

After an interruption in publication, we have decided to relaunch the
publication as an electronic newsletter on the web. The URL is
http://www.who.int/medicines/publications/monitor/en/index.html This URL
provides a link to past editions and the present first edition. Our
intention is to publish two or three short articles about 10 times per
year.

In this first edition we have articles about the relaunch, the
readership survey and a major study on adherence to ARV medicines in
East Africa.

We are hoping to encourage reader responses to the articles. Once you
have read an article you will be able to send in a response and these
will be posted on the web site for other readers to read. Such comments
should be sent to emmonitor@who.int .

As before we welcome submission of short articles that address an issue
important to the Essential Medicines movement. We are particularly
interested in articles from authors in developing countries who are
describing new ways of improving access and use of essential medicines.
Guidelines for authors are available at

We are concerned about readers without web access and for these people
we will offer to send the individual articles as attached files. To
request such files please send a message to emmonitor@who.int

We look forward to your feedback.
