E-drug: RFI counterfeit drugs (cont)
---------------------------------------------
Natalia,
Regarding examples of where the GPHF minilabs have been used and
results, I know that in 2000 the WHO Essential Drugs and Medicines
department, in collaboration with the Roll Back Malaria global
partnership and GPHF, located minilabs in the National Drug
Regulatory Authorities in eight countries (Ghana, Gabon, Kenya, Mali,
Mozambique, Sudan,Tanzania and Zimbabwe). This was part of a project
to assess the nature of and improve access to quality antimalarials
in Africa.
The following might give you more specific details:
Dr. Clive Ondari (ondaric@who.int)
Richard Jahnke (info@gphf.org)
The above information on minilabs might also be of interest to other
subscribers.
On counterfeiting issues, you should not find any problems accessing
information, as a lot of work has been done in the area over the past two
decades - The only problem is that it is still rife across the world!!
