E-DRUG: RFI: paracetamol AND ibuprofen in children? (3)
-------------------------------------------------------
I am not aware of research on this topic, but I am not aware of problems
from a theoretical/mechanistic perspective.
From a practical perspective, this question is important. Clinically I have
considered the same question with children presenting to Australian
hospital emergency departments with high fevers despite administration of
either paracetamol or ibuprofen (generally paracetamol). Dosing limits
prevent further paracetamol, so ibuprofen has been given in addition -
often with good effect. I am not aware of any advere events, but have not
specifically followed this question up.
Not sure if this helps.
