E-drug: Role and function of E-drug (cont'd)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear E-Drug,
As a Drug Information Pharmacist in a teaching hospital in Malaysia,
I have found E-Drug to be extremely informative. I must admit most
of the time I refrained from responding because of the quality of the
articles circulated, and I did not have the time or resources to
research and respond with equal quality. I do agree that sometimes
there are multiple articles circulated covering roughly the same
areas, in those cases perhaps a central article can be circulated and
the others referenced for e-druggers who are interested for further
research. However the broad scope widens my understanding of
pharmaceutical care and I believe it is beneficial this way rather
than having too narrow a genre.
Overall, keep up the good work. I am actually hoping to join a NGO
soon in Africa and look forward to the continuous updates and rich
sources of information from E-Drug in the limited circumstances
there. Thank God they have good internet access, but what may be
limiting may be the amount of emails transmitted. In that case
perhaps the moderators can somehow reduce load by again
circulating central articles with references for further research.
Thank you and God bless,
kae

[Dear Kae, if the volume of traffic is problematic in the place where
you are going to work, please consider subscribing to E-drug-digest,
which distributes messages in batches (on the moment a certain
volume of text has been reached). With the current number of
submissions, those digest messages are sent every couple of days,
so you won't be much "behind". Good luck with your future work
in Africa, and please keep us informed of drugs related issues that
are important there. HH]
