E-DRUG: Setting up Hospital/ Clinic Pharmacies in Resource-Poor Settings (12)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi all
Though South Africa may not be regarded by some as the most resource-constrained setting, the South African Pharmacy Council's Good Pharmacy Practice standards provide some useful pointers. The 4th edition (2010) is downloadable at http://www.mm3admin.co.za/documents/docmanager/0C43CA52-121E-4F58-B8F6-81F656F2FD17/00052829.pdf (long URL, so repair if necessary).
Section 1.6, in particular (from pg 30), provides the minimum standards for the supply of medicines in a primary health care clinic. Section 2.4 (from pg 53) lists the minimum standards relating specifically to institutional (hospital) pharmacies.
Regards
Andy
