Sudan Journal for Rational Use of Medicine (SJRUM) is a publication
produced by the National Medicine Information Centre and Reference Library
(NMICRL); Directorate General of Pharmacy; Federal Ministry of Health;
Sudan.
SJRUM aims to promote Rational Use of Medicines (RUM) through disseminating
principles, views, news, and educating health providers about rational use
of medicines.
SJRUM targets health professionals; prescribers, pharmacists, and nurses.
Each issue is centred on a theme; which usually is an important subject in
RUM.
This SJRUM selected topics intends to identify urgent challenges
confronting our society and suggests means and ways to tackle them.
Subsequently, we are confronted with a series of issues require our outmost
urgent intervention including lack of adequate diagnostic tools that often
facilitate more presumptive treatment, limited availability of
in-service-training to teach health personnel, poor community understanding
aspects related to medicine prescribed and industry influence.
Also discuss many topics: prescribing antibacterial resistance, rational
prescribing , good dispensing practice , responsible self-medication, the
path to pharmacovigliance.
