E-DRUG: Sumamed registered in USA? (4)

Dear all,
As far as I know Sumamed� is not registered in the US because both
companies,
Pliva and Pfizer did a marketing arrangement. Pliva (Croatia) had patented
the
product in 1981, marketing it under the brand name Sumamed� in Eastern
Europe.
Pfizer, who launched Zithromax� in 1991, kept the rest.
There are many generics in countries where there is no patent at a 90% or
less
of Zithromax� price.
