[e-drug] Updating the WHO essential medicine list

E-drug: Updating the WHO essential medicine list
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Items are being considered for review at the next WHO Expert meeting in
March 2003. I have been asked by WHO to co-ordinate some of the work and a
list has been compiled of items which are considered to be of doubtful
efficacy,
have safety concerns or do not appear on a number of national essential drug
lists. The list has been sent to a number of people who have been involved
with the project in the past and comments are also invited from the wider
e-drug list membership. If you would like to comment on this list of some 50
items please email me at phil.wiffen@pru.ox.ac.uk. I will then forward a
Word
document electronically. The deadline for returns is August 10th 2002
