The Ministry of Health and Social Services, Namibia, is inviting
applications from suitably qualified Pharmacists to fill in the following
vacancies.

Regional Pharmacists (four posts)
(1) Ohangwena Region
(2) Omusati Region
(3) Oshana Region
(4) Oshikoto Region

Pharmacist - Oshakati Regional Medical Store (1 post)

REQUIREMENTS AND BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTIONS

A. REGIONAL PHARMACIST

Purpose of Job: Responsible for overall planning and management of
pharmaceutical services in the region
Requirements: Degree in Pharmacy

Three or more years working experience. Previous experience in managing
pharmaceutical services at regional / provincial level is an added advantage

Main tasks and responsibilities:

1. Member of the Regional Management Team (RMT)
2. Supply management in Hospitals and health facilities in the region
3. Planning and Budgeting: Plan and budget for pharmaceutical supplies in
the region (Hospitals, health centres and clinics)
4. Human resources management (co-ordinate posting of pharmaceutical staff
and relief duties in the region)
5. Supervision and Training (to initiate and maintain a schedule for
inspection and supervisory visits in health facilities
6. Technical support to other health professionals, IEC and research
7. To compile quarterly reports to be sent to the supervisor and the
Director: Pharmaceutical Services
8. To carry out other official duties assigned by the supervisor

PHARMACIST (OSHAKATI REGIONAL MEDICAL STORE)

Purpose of Job: Responsible with procurement and distribution section of the
regional medical store.

Requirements: Degree in Pharmacy, Basic computer skills (Spreadsheet, Word
processing and database management). Previous experience in a medical store
setting is an added advantage

General:

All pharmacists are required to register with Namibian Pharmacy board before
assumption of duty
Successful applicants will be appointed on a two-year contract with a
possibility of renewal.
Apart from salary, other benefits include 25 working days annual leave,
membership in the Government Medical Aid Scheme and transport privileges
from and to place of recruitment to duty station at start and end of
contract
