Please find below the vacancy for Pharmacist (100%) for Medecins Sans
Frontieres at the HQ in Amsterdam. The deadline is extended to 20 December

With immediate effect Medecins Sans Frontieres has a vacancy for a

PHARMACIST (100%) based in Amsterdam
Position
                                                                              
   The pharmacist reports directly to the Head of the Logistics Department.
   Together with the pharmacist in the Public Health Department (PHD) s/he
   is part of the MSF international pharmacist network and a counterpart to
   the pharmacists of the two other MSF supply centers in Belgium and
   France. The Pharmacist works together with the International Pharmacist
   Co-ordinator and the MSF OCA section pharmacist on validation of products
   and processes to safeguard quality of supplies. S/he communicates with
   other members of MSF international pharmacist group on pharmaceutical
   issues to develop a common policy with guidelines and protocols.
   Next to this the pharmacist communicates with suppliers of pharmaceutical
   products on compliance of QA procedures to safeguard quality of supplies
   and approval of product dossiers, and with suppliers and other players in
   order to facilitate sourcing of pharmaceuticals within the MSF QA scheme.

   Main characteristics
-
   To assure compliance of MSF OCA medical procurement to MSF international
      policies and procedures for pharmaceutical Quality Assurance (QA);
   To provide expert advice and support within MSF OCA on quality management
      regarding procurement and the supply chain of pharmacy related issues
      and items;
   Develops and promotes a vision on pharmaceutical sourcing;
   Monitors and evaluates the quality of medical products to be delivered to
      the field and accompanying procedures and policies, and from approved
      sources;
   Facilitates the procurement and supply processes, especially regarding
      sourcing;
   Initiates and develops an integral and coherent sourcing and procurement
      policy in the field of expertise and develops guidelines, protocols,
      procedures, etc. to support it;
   Gives expert advice and technical support to other colleagues in the
      department on purchases and to line management for decision-making and
      purchasing and sourcing strategy;
   Initiates/performs market research and analyses developments in field of
      expertise;
   Initiates/performs manufacturer audits; audits are done with an external
      (GMP) expert;
   Proposes inter-disciplinary, cross-departmental activities with (PHD)
      pharmacist;
   Trains relevant staff members and warehouse personnel on quality aspects
      related to supply and Good Distribution Practice;
   Updates the quality manual and supervises the procedures related to the
      wholesaler license and other licenses for which the pharmacist
      procurement is the main contact person.
                                                                              
Profile
We are looking for a qualified pharmacist (diploma accepted in Europe) with
experience in quality assurance and procurement of pharmaceuticals.
Knowledge of good distributing practice requirements and work experience in
the pharmaceutical industry is an asset. The candidate should have an
interest in the organisational context of MSF and be available to
occasionally perform worldwide audits, travel to the field and to other MSF
partners. Computer skills and fluency in English are essential next to
advisory skills, initiative and a result-driven approach. The person should
have a pragmatic personality and be a good communicator.

We offer
A contract for one year with a renewal option based on a fulltime
appointment in salary grade 7, with a gross monthly salary between Euro 2.872
and Euro 4.103 depending upon relevant professional experience and based upon
a 40-hour working week. Other benefits include 30 holidays and a premium
free pension.
