Dear e-druggers,

We are looking for a lecturer/senior lecturer in the School of Pharmacy,
University of Otago. As you can see in the advertisement we have a wide
range of research interests within the School, and we are looking for
someone who could complement and strengthen our research programme. The
candidate would need to be able to teach some aspect of our
undergraduate programme, and this includes a range of health-related
disciplines, including social sciences.

Lecturer/Senior Lecturer – Pharmacy Practice

SCHOOL OF PHARMACY

Applications are invited for the confirmation path position of
Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Pharmacy Practice (Social and Administrative
Pharmacy).

We wish to appoint an appropriately qualified and enthusiastic person
who will establish a productive research programme in areas relevant to
the practice of pharmacy, such as drug utilisation, health policy and
health economics, professional practice, lay perspectives on medicines,
patient beliefs and concordance. The appointee will join a group of
active researchers including a sociologist and pharmacist researchers
with interests in health policy/health economics and drug use in
developing countries.

The successful applicant will teach students enrolled in the BPharm
programme, pharmacists enrolled in the professional postgraduate
programmes and supervise postgraduate research students. Undergraduate
teaching in pharmacy practice includes: Principles of Pharmacy Practice,
Professional Pharmacy Practice and a major input into the integrated
Quality Use of Medicine subjects.

Candidates should have good communication skills and an ability to work
co-operatively with others. Possessing a pharmacy qualification would
be an advantage.
