Purpose of Job: Direct and Manage the “Downstream” Activities related to access, distribution and delivery of antimalarial drugs

Key Accountabilities:1. Establish and implement appropriate development strategies to support the accessibility, delivery and licensing strategies.2. Follow-up on existing partnership activities including the tracking and documentation of all collaborations along the portfolio of projects.3. 3. Manage the identification, evaluation and development of pharmaceutical and biotechnology prospects.4. Investigate low-cost manufacturing options 5. Liaise with Global Health partners on delivery and distribution strategies in endemic countries.6. Liaise with Global Health partners to conduct needs Assessments for Antimalarials in endemic countries.7. Interface with Global Health partners to understand the mix of Malaria Control Interventions, particularly the introduction of new antimalarials.8. Ensure that all relevant data on drugs is made accessible to partners.9. Facilitate regulatory processes for new drugs in endemic countries10. Work closely with Global Health partners to ensure that new antimalarials are on the list of acceptable drugs.11. Oversee the plans for the execution of a comprehensive marketing strategy.12. Participate in the development of strategic partnerships, joint ventures and alliances as well as technology and intellectual licensing opportunities, with industry, academia and government agencies. Share approval criteria and results from FDA with endemic country regulatory bodies.13. Disseminate information regarding New antimalarial drug efficacy and benefits versus existing drugs14. Requirements of the job
Knowledge · University degree in Marketing/Business or economics with a strong knowledge of Sciences· Marketing experience of at least 4 years in biotechnology/pharmaceutical environment. · Knowledge of federal and state regulations and guidelines pertaining to the launch new drugs· Ability to make evaluative judgments. · Ability to develop and deliver both oral and written presentations. · Knowledge of statistical data collection, editing, validation, and analysis techniques. · Knowledge of current and developing trends of health policies in endemic countries.· Ability to develop and implement clinical research monitoring plans and standard operating procedures. · Ability to provide technical advice, guidance, and support to professional staff in area of specialty. · Ability to communicate and interact competently and professionally at all levels within a broad, complex research health environment. · Knowledge of adverse medical event investigation, analysis, and reporting procedures and standards. · Knowledge of database concepts, and formats. · Skill in the use of computer statistical, technical, and database applications. · Ability to develop technical reports and manuscripts. · Knowledge of fiscal management, grant writing and administration, and grant reporting.
