E-DRUG: WHO EB and RUM resolution

Dear E-druggers
The Executive Board (EB) of WHO has discussed Progress in the rational use of medicines including better medicines for children. There were actually two documents discussed under this agenda:
(1) EB120/7 on rational use of medicines

(2) EB120/27 on Better Essential Medicines for Children
These documents cover the Secretariat's report, the draft resolutions that were discussed and a report on the administrative and financial implications of implementing the resolutions and can be downloaded from the above websites. The draft resolutions were modified over the weekend and agreement reached. The EB today approved the two modified resolutions to be forwarded to the World Health Assembly in May 2007. The revised resolutions will be placed on the website:

In addition, the draft resolution on rational use of medicines will be discussed at the next 15th meeting of the Expert Committee on Selection and Use of Essential Medicines, March 19 - 23, 2007. The background document and questions to be considered are posted at the website below.
