E-DRUG: Withdrawal of antipsychotics in Pakistan (cont)

Well, in India too, the story has been similar. Melleril has hardly been
available for the past few years. Now, only one strength is available.
Chlorpromazine (Rhone-Poulenc) has been available off and on for the past
two years, because of the tussle of the company with price fixation by the
Govt. And, finally, news has come to me, that the company has stopped
manufacturing and marketing the whole range of Chlorpromazine for India.
The market will be hit by this in a few days time. Luckily, there are other
brands available, it will now depend on how the patients accept them !
