Workforce survey findings revealed at Pharmacy Technician & Pharmacy
Support Workforce Symposium
New findings from a global survey on the pharmacy technician workforce will
be a key draw to the pharmacy technician and support workforce symposium
(27 & 28 August), hosted by FIP for the fifth time just before the FIP
congress. Commissioned by the Board of Pharmaceutical Practice, the survey
also contains specific country case studies, illustrating the global status
of pharmacy technicians and current workforce trends. There has been
'steady growth in attendance' at the symposium, and technicians can 'look
forward to another exciting opportunity to explore current issues related
to development of this critical component of the pharmacy workforce' said
Susan James, Ontario College of Pharmacists, Toronto, Canada.
Our co-host for this year: COFA
The Confederacion Farmaceutica Argentina (COFA) represents pharmacists
across Argentina through their professional associations. Throughout its
80-year history COFA has established itself as an organisation that works
fairly and with the objectives to achieve and advance recognition for the
pharmaceutical profession in medicines management and in the delivery of
public health services. The FIP congress 2016 will be a 'powerhouse for new
projects and agreements' and also an inspiration for pharmacists, according
to COFA spokesperson Andrea Joseph. In the same week as the FIP congress,
the COFA congress is taking place. Many FIP sessions will be simultaneously
translated into Spanish.

'To survive in the VUCA (volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous) world,
a pharmacy leader needs to be the most effective agent of change' said
Lards Salderlund, head tenders & contract sales, senior adviser at
Apoteket, Sweden. A number of critical competencies and skills are involved
in this, including the need to be comfortable with unclear situations, have
a vision of a future that others may not see and anticipate, and have a
relentless focus on the customer. Speakers' Corner at the 76th FIP
congress is the opportunity for every participant to discuss and highlight
issues of high importance for pharmacy in their respective countries -
without prior confirmation of time slots.

the world? Argentine wine, as with some aspects of Argentine cuisine, has
its roots in Spain. The most important wine regions of the country are
located in the provinces of Mendoza, San Juan and La Rioja. Salta,
Catamarca, Río Negro and more recently southern Buenos Aires are also wine
producing regions.
