Dear Colleagues, Friends and Partners

I would like to let you know that the new interface for the Global Price
Reporting Mechanism is now available on line, at
http://apps.who.int/hiv/amds/price/hdd/

This improved interface enables users to search for the price and volumes
sold of HIV medicines (all, or selected formulations) , in countries,
regions, by income category, by HDI category, by manufacturer, and by type
of manufacturer (generic, or innovator).

NEW are:

TRENDS of price and volumes sold

QUALITY CONTROLLED DATA: duplicates have been removed, suspicious data are
quarantined and queried before they are uploaded.

DATA ARE CURRENT: Data for 2011 and 2012 are now available from GPRM in the
public domain as they are uploaded for the first time.

The enclosed PowerPoint presentation shows you the shape of the interface,
and the results of 2 queries: the price and volume sold of EFV/FTC/TDF for a
number of countries neighboring DRC, and for 3TC/NVP/ZDV, in all low income
countries combined. The strategic relevance of the data will be obvious to
you at a glance.

If you would like to have a hands-on tutorial in the use of this interface,
please feel free to contact Boniface Dongmo, who will be pleased to help
you. But I trust its navigation will be self-explanatory.

We are currently working to upload diagnostics, TB and malaria data. The
entire retooling of the GPRM should be complete at the end of July 2012.
But for HIV drugs we are done...

With this mail I would like to thank the team that brought this exercise to
a successful partial close. It includes Boniface Dongmo, our IT department,
and ANRS, which provided technical assistance for this overhaul. The
overhaul of the diagnostics part continues with input from FIND. UNITAID
financed the overhaul. Our key data providers include PEPFAR (SCMS, MSH,
JSI), GFATM, UNICEF, UNITAID, IDA, MissionPharma, CHAI, CHMP, UNDP and
WHO/CPS. GPRM is a collective product of the AMDS - a network of
organizations and institutions supporting access to HIV drugs and
diagnostics, of which WHO provides the secretariat. GPRM can only exist
and be representative thanks to their continued commitment of its data
providing partners and they deserve our appreciation for it. Together we
produce a unique resource to monitor the ARV market, inform forecasting, and
support transparency in the sourcing of the products on which GPRM
reports.
