The Global PricReporting Mechanism (GPRM) new Interface is live
A new interface for the Global Price Reporting Mechanism is now available on
line, at http://apps.who.int/hiv/amds/price/hdd/ . This improved interface
enables users to search for the price and volumes sold of HIV medicines
(all, or selected formulations) , in countries, regions, by income category,
by HDI category, by manufacturer, and by type of manufacturer (generic, or
innovator).
NEW in GPRM are the following features:
Data for 2011 and 2012
Automatic reporting of price and volume trends
Quality control: removal of duplicate transactions, quarantine and query
of suspicious data before they are uploaded.
At the Annual AMDS Partners Meeting in June 2012, we also decided to create
a vetting panel, composed by the top 5 data contributors, to decide on how
to make data on individual transactions available to third parties. SCMS,
GFATM, IDA Foundation, UNICEF and Missionpharma are members, and the HIV
Department will chair the panel.
The screenshots below shows you the shape of the interface, and the results
of 2 queries: the price and volume sold of EFV/FTC/TDF for 3 countries
neighboring DRC, and for 3TC/NVP/ZDV, in all low income countries combined.
The strategic relevance of the data will be obvious to you at a glance. We
are currently working to upload diagnostics, TB and malaria data. The
entire retooling of the GPRM should be complete at the end of December
2012. But for HIV drugs we are done.
We thank the team that brought this exercise to a successful partial close,
in particular UNITAID which financed the project, and ANRS, which provided
technical assistance. The overhaul of the diagnostics part continues with
input from FIND. And of course, this exercise would be meaningless without
data, which PEPFAR (SCMS, MSH, JSI), GFATM, UNICEF, UNITAID, IDA Foundation,
MissionPharma, CHAI, CHMP, UNDP and WHO/CPS continued to supply.
