E-MED: Gestion des fournisseurs et des dilais contractuels(8)
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Dr. YERBANGA

I wish to share your position informing the forum on the supply of reagents
which is still hampering the establishment of adequate analysis services at
LNSP, Burkina Faso. In this connection, some international organisations as
the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) have taken necessary steps to
provide required reagents to this institution as well as train some
laboratory staff. It is therefore expected that the shipment of the supplied
reagents will be implemented very soon, certainly before the end of this
week.

Although I agree for the reagents problems including the need of further
training of the staff, I reject your statement on the inappropriateness of
its equipment. This laboratory is very well equipped and still one of the
best in Africa. As you might be aware, the LNSP has been established
recently and officially open/inaugurated last year only.

Therefore, to avoid further premature judgement, the way forward should be
to continue supporting LNSP's activities through provision of more analysis.
On the other hand, All partners and costumers including your institution,
should continue to assist this referenced laboratory with the aim to
strengthen its technical capability to perform QC analysis in order to
ensure international acceptability of results, thereby contributing to
assuring consumer safety in Burkina Faso as well as in the sub-region.

Best regards.

Vincent Nkong-Njock
