Subject E-Drug Rat bite in Philippines and Rabies

There is not enough information to make an informed recommendation. Was
this a lab rat vs. wild? What were the circumstances around the bite?
Rural or Urban area? Rabies in the Philippines is not a major problem
(about 200 cases per year) and is primarily associated with dogs.

You would get more accurate information by contacting the health department
in Manila or one of the Hospitals (Univ. of Santo Tomas Hospital. Tel
(2)269-116). In any country travelers should seek immediate medical
attention following any animal bite.
