Africa, some sobering numbers (14)
----------------------------------

Dear Colleagues,

The information from Peter Burgess is commendable. Another point that
most of us seem to forget is the 'Blessing' of Nature which as become
a 'curse' to Africa. Here in Africa, the weather is friendly, the
climatic conditions so good most inhabitants never bother to think
but rather play/dance around their existence, while their European
and other counterparts are busy thinking and planning how they will
survive their harsh climatic conditions. These manner of existence
had been on and been passed and is being passed to their progeny;
what happens is slothfulness, loss of foresight, etc.

Today, unfortunately, most of us Africans believe in receiving grants
from 'developed' nations, we believe in mortgaging the future of gen-
erations unborn: there is the loss of self esteem. What happens? More
people go down the drain. I do not blame the 'Colonial Master' that
came here to make a living for himself, children and his nation! If
you were in his shoes what would you have done? The poor man having
suffered so much to conquer its harsh environment ventured in his
usual spirit to conquer more, he was and he is an investor; he should
not lose? He had really invested while his counterpart was playing,
dancing and refusing to think.

What do you think his counterpart deserve? What should be the wage of
laziness as we have today in Africa? Definitely, there should be no
reward. It is a disgrace to ask where you never sowed, perhaps we
will all learn when we truly suffer for the stupidity and ignorance
inherited from our so called forefathers; May there Souls Rest in
Peace as we strive to improve on what is left for us by so kind a Na-
ture.

Thank you.
